[ Joy Girvin ]

Joy Girvin is a painter, printmaker and art educator; trained in Fine Arts at the University of Northumbria then studied as a postgraduate at the Royal Academy of Arts London followed by an Italian Government scholarship to Rome. She has exhibited at  Cadogan Gallery, London, the RA Summer Exhibition, the Mall Galleries and other group shows. She continues to paint at Chisenhale Studios and has works in public collections including the Prints and Drawings Library at the British Museum. Themes range from gardens, landscape to seascape and sailing on the River Thames linking recently to her love of sailing. The work of the Studio Artists reflects the diversity of contemporary art practices and promotes a wider understanding of artistic processes through open sharing events, workshops, studio visits and professional development programmes.
