Karen Russo’s (b. 1974) work uses documentary and narrative in an exploration of how knowledge, perception, and culture intertwine the rational with the obscure.
Russo has exhibited widely including Whitechapel Gallery; Barbican; Hayward Gallery Project Space; Tate Modern; Delfina; Towner Eastbourne; Athens Biennial; KinoKino Kunstsal, Sandnes; Busan Biennial; Montevideo, Amsterdam; Große Kunstschau Museum, Worpswede; HKW, Berlin; Krefeld Museum, Krefeld and more.
Her films have been screened in film festivals such as Oberhausen, Ann Arbor, EMAF and Uppsala. Russo is a 2023 Film London Jarman Award nominee.
