Applications Open

Residency Four

Two artists, one studio, four months.

The deadline for applications is 11 pm on Sunday 27th September 2026. A shortlist of applicants will be made, and interviews will be held the week c/o 5th October.

Residency Four offers two artists the opportunity to share a dedicated studio space over a four-month period. The residency provides time and space to develop new work, undertake research, and/or advance existing projects within a focused studio environment.

The programme is artist-led and non-prescriptive, encouraging participants to take a self-directed approach to their projects and practice. Artists shape their own residency experience, using the time to explore and expand their practice or specific project on their own terms. Working together in one space, artists will find opportunities for dialogue, social exchange, and potential collaboration.

Residents will have the opportunity to take part in Chisenhale events and are encouraged to engage with the wider studio community. There is also scope to initiate small-scale, informal public activities, such as workshops, conversations, or open studio moments with our support, should this align with your practice/project.

Chisenhale Studios is located in the CAP building. CAP is an arts education charity based in East London. Located in a former factory on Chisenhale Road, it brings together three distinct initiatives: Chisenhale Dance Space, Chisenhale Gallery, and Chisenhale Studios, which comprises 40 artist studios.
